Legally Blonde is a 2001 comedy film directed by Robert Luketic. It is based on a book of the same name written by Amanda Brown. Luketic is popular for his many movies in the comedy genre.

Story:  Elle Woods is a smart, funny, intelligent girl who is your poster girl for blondes. She wears pink, majors in fashion about which she has an encyclopedic knowledge and is the president of her sorority. She dates the cutest boy on campus and wants to marry him. However her boyfriend dumps her on the grounds that she is too blonde (dumb) for him. The enraged Elle resolves to get into Harvard law school and win him back. How she showcases her brilliance and defies our stereotypical expectations of her is what the movie is about.

Reese Witherspoon is brilliant in her portrayal of the smart “bimbo” .The movie is funny, engaging and makes you feel good at the end of it. There are a few references to homosexuals, drinking and a little bit of bad language, size of body parts etc and therefore fit to only watch with your older teen. Overall the movie is highly entertaining and a good time pass.

ZenParent Says: Legally blonde is a good movie to catch with your older teenager (11+). The movie is well taken, funny and a feel good experience. It features in the list of top 100 movies for teens.
