Oats Ladoo !

Ingredients:

  • 200 gms sugar
  • 100 gms rolled oats (1 cup)
  • 150 gms grated fresh coconut
  • ¼ tsp. green cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp. ghee  + ghee for greasing the palms
  • Roasted cashews  and raisins for garnish

 

Procedure:

1. Toast the oats in a heavy bottomed pan until they have a nice toasty aroma. Be careful not to burn them. Cool it.

2. Set aside 2 tbsps of the toasted oats and grind the rest coarsely

3. Mix the coconut and sugar in 1 tbsp of water and cook on low flame for a couple of minutes

4. Add the cardamom powder

5. Continue to cook it till the moisture evaporates from the mixture.

6. Add all the  oats (ground and whole) and mix well . Turn off heat and transfer to another dish

7. Add ghee and raisins and roll into balls, smearing ghee on your hands

8. Serve after cooling
