Eating well during one’s pregnancy is extremely essential to maintain not just a healthy pregnancy but to ensure a healthy baby and let you be healthy once the baby is born too. But cooking can be quite a cumbersome task now as you are tired and the standing puts added pressure on your aching or swollen feet. What you need are easy to cook meals which will be prepared really fast while ensuring you are getting your required nutrients.

One way of ensuring that is by mixing up food groups to ensure you get more than one nutrient with one meal. Your options could be:

  • Juices
    Perfect for your dose of fibres, antioxidants and vitamins, juices are a good meal option. Choose one or two fruits/ vegetables and run them through the juicer.
  • Smoothies
    Pick out a few fruits and puree it wish milk or yoghurt for your dose of antioxidants, fibres, calcium and healthy bacteria.
  • Soups
    Boil selected vegetables and have for fibre and proteins in your diet. You could add chicken too.
  • Salads
    Mix up vegetables or fruits and have a diet enriched in fibres, proteins and minerals
  • Stuffed paranthas
    No need to bother with a separate side dish just stuff vegetables into the paranthas of wheat flour for enough proteins, fibre and vitamins.
  • Mixed pulaos 
    If opting for rice, mix up vegetables and rice for a wholesome multi-nutritious meal with sufficient fibres, vitamins and minerals.
