Natural remedies to cure Heart Burn

If after a meal you experience a burning sensation in your chest, you are experiencing

Heart Burn which is quite common in pregnancy. This doesn’t make it any easier to

handle though as with advancing pregnancy it could just get worse.

Heart burn happens as the hormone ‘progesterone’ has relaxed the valve at the top of

your stomach which keeps the stomach acid and food inside the stomach. So the acid

and sometimes partially digested food may come right back to your oesophagus

causing the heart burn.

● Water

Water taken in small sips can be very effective in curing heartburn. Avoid

having a lot of it in one shot as it could aggravate the symptoms.

● Coconut Water

Coconut water is believed to be a great natural acid neutralizer. Having some of

it could give you relief from your heartburn.

● Ginger

Ginger, ginger candies, etc. can be effective to soothe a case of heartburn. It also

helps ease the accompanying symptom of nausea which is common with

heartburn.

● Garlic

Some women may find this aggravates the issues, but a lot of women find that

having garlic in their meal or raw garlic each day can help cure heartburn.

● Peppermint

Peppermint tea or peppermint candies can soothe heartburns greatly. Be careful

of the accompanying sugar in the candies though, it can be excessive.

● Yoghurt

Yoghurt is an alkaline food so it can neutralize the acid thus giving respite from

the heartburn. It also has probiotics which is a form of beneficial bacteria found

in the digestive tract.

● Bananas

Bananas are neutral food which can help fight heartburn. They contain some

substances which suppress acid secretion in the stomach.

Remember though that what works for one may not work for another so find out what
