Precautions to take while attending a family wedding during pregnancy

A wedding is a lot of fun to attend but it is also exhausting emotionally and physically. When you are pregnant though it can be even more exhausting, but you wouldn’t want to miss it just because you are pregnant, right?

Take a few precautions and you should be able to be a part of the wedding with no issues and have lots of fun too.

  • If you have to travel by air, train or car plan to go with time in hand. The journey too can tire you and you would want to reserve the energy for the wedding,
  • If the venue is small and cramped, try and look for a space where there is some ventilation. Crowds may get overwhelming for you.
  • Take time to rest and sit down for small stretches of time.
  • Avoid wearing clothes which are not too heavy as it may get very uncomfortable.
  • Avoid wearing heels now as with all the crowds, dancing, etc. you could be at risk to have a bad fall.
  • A room full of relatives definitely means a lot of prying questions regarding the pregnancy. In case you don’t want to be in the spotlight you might want to dress smartly to avoid people knowing you are pregnant. For example an Anarkali would be a perfect foil to hide the bump and still look great.
  • Be careful about the food at the wedding. Avoid intake of salty food and also oily food. Have some snacks at hand just in case the food gets delayed.
  • Drink a lot of water to ensure you stay hydrated.

Take the required precautions and enjoy the wedding to the fullest. Remember to have fun, regardless of what anyone else is saying, and the best way to do that is to be decked in your most comfortable clothing and footwear, and to make sure you have enough energy, all the time.
