Why you should drink 4 litres of water a day

Drink a gallon of water a day, they say. A gallon is roughly 3.78 litres. That’s a LOT of water. Yes, I know. But did you know that there are long term benefits to adding this healthy practice to your lifestyle? Here’s the lowdown on what happens when you start drinking nearly 4 litres of water everyday

1. Improves skin

1. Space out the water intake through the day

For instance, 2 glasses on waking up, 2 after breakfast, 2 after lunch, 2 before tea, 2 after dinner and 2 before bed. That’s 12 glasses of water, roughly 3 litres.

2. Use an app

3.Place water bottles at different locations

Like your dining table, kitchen counter, bedside, study table etc. to encourage you to drink on the go.

4. Work your way up 

If you barely drink a litre everyday, it’s going to be really hard for you to up the ante to 4 times that much in a single day. Instead, ramp it up – try 2 litres for 3-4 days, then 3 and so on. That way your body gets slowly acquainted to all the extra water and your bladder won’t burst.

Water is freely available, calorie-free and the most refreshing drink on the planet. Did we even need an excuse to be drinking up? Nope.
