7. No more headaches

Anyone who’s suffered from dehydration headaches know what I’m talking about. This is the headache that strikes mid morning, after breakfast. That’s when the water content in your body drops after the morning ablutions. They’re obstructive and tend to linger till the afternoon. The best way to avoid these? Be filled up on water of course. With all tat you’ll be drinking, you can kiss these pesky headaches a hearty goodbye.

If you’re not used to it, drinking up to 4 litres of water a day can be quite the challenge. Here are some simple tips to elevate your water intake through the day

1. Space out the water intake through the day

For instance, 2 glasses on waking up, 2 after breakfast, 2 after lunch, 2 before tea, 2 after dinner and 2 before bed. That’s 12 glasses of water, roughly 3 litres.

2. Use an app

There are apps such WaterLogged and Water Drink Reminder which remind you to drink regularly.

3.Place water bottles at different locations

Like your dining table, kitchen counter, bedside, study table etc. to encourage you to drink on the go.

4. Work your way up

If you barely drink a litre everyday, it’s going to be really hard for you to up the ante to 4 times that much in a single day. Instead, ramp it up – try 2 litres for 3-4 days, then 3 and so on. That way your body gets slowly acquainted to all the extra water and your bladder won’t burst.

Water is freely available, calorie-free and the most refreshing drink on the planet. Did we even need an excuse to be drinking up? Nope.
