This is what Aishwarya Rai actually wanted to become! (Acting was never an option)

Stardom was not what these celebs actually wished for! It chanced upon them and later became a way of life. However, even before they shot to fame and grabbed shutterbugs and headlines, these stars were normal people like you and me, and also had different goals in life.

Just like any other person, they went to normal schools and earned degrees, which later took a backseat in the urge to make it big in Bollywood. From Aishwarya Rai to Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, here are stars who gave up their childhood dreams to become actors.

1. Aishwarya Rai

Raised by a father who literally breathed biology, we are not surprised that this gorgeous mommy was also a huge fan of Zoology. Ash initially rolled up her sleeves and was all set to study medicine and become a doctor, but after her plans failed, she enrolled to become an architect. However, that went down the drains too and she finally stepped into modelling after which films happened.

2. Kareena Kapoor

Taimur’s mommy wanted to pursue a career in Law and also has the qualifications needed for the same. After studying commerce for two years at Mithibai College, she did Microcomputers at the prestigious Harvard University. Later on, she studied law at the Government Law College, Mumbai, for a year. However, things changed sooner than she thought and the Kapoor girl made her debut in Bollywood and has had a steady foot in the industry ever since then.

3. Soha Ali Khan

Before becoming an actress, Soha studied Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford and then gained a Master's Degree in International Relations from London School of Economics and Political Science. That definitely needs some effort and sincerity! Runs in the blood, we think.

4. Akshay Kumar

Nitara’s daddy never wanted to become an actor. Like many know, Akshay is passionate about martial arts and also went to Bangkok to learn it. While in Bangkok he worked as a chef to support his Martial Arts training. But, destiny took him to modelling after which tables turned. The actor is still extremely passionate about martial arts so much so, that he teaches over 300 girls every week. Well done daddy!

5. Genelia D’Souza

This sporty mommy was passionate about football and was also a national-level football player. She also has a Bachelor's in Management Studies from St Andrew's College. What's more? She was so determined to get her degree that she completed the course while shooting for her first film. If not for films, Genelia might have become a sports personality, we think.
