This is the fashion lesson you must steal from Soha, Kareena, and Shilpa this festive season!

The festive season is around the corner and we are sure you are busy doing all that it takes to put your best fashion foot forward. While there is no dearth of maternity clothing lines, pregnant moms can find it a bit hard to step out in style in ethnic outfits. However, like always, our Bollywood divas have made this too easy for us.

From Soha Ali Khan to Kareena Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty, our celebs have stepped out in their ethnic best even when they were pregnant.

Here are 5 of our favourite maternity wardrobe trends you must steal this festive season!

1. Saree

Who said pregnant women cannot wear sarees? There can be nothing as graceful as a saree and we Indian women love the six-yard wonder to the moon and back. Pregnant actress Soha Ali Khan recently took the internet by storm as she dazzled in a pink-gold silk saree at her baby shower function. Keep your makeup, accessories and the hairdo simple so that you are not bogged down by the heaviness from the whole look.

Tip: Make sure you don’t pick a heavy saree and a blouse. Keep one light, so that the look is well balanced.

2. Anarkalis

Anarkalis are every pregnant woman’s best friend. The dress gives ample room for the bump, helping it look just right. Shilpa Shetty, who is known for her impeccable style sense was seen roaming around in this comfortable piece of attire when she was pregnant. The royal red Anarkali, the diamond jewellery, and the radiant pregnancy glow, made Shilpa look like a million bucks.

Tip: Anarkalis flow well in silky materials than cotton. So choose the right one!

3. Lehenga

If you thought lehengas were super heavy and were not apt for pregnant moms, think again! If you are the kind who likes to hide the bump, this is the right attire for you. Festivities mean crowded homes and if you wish to keep people away from feeling your bump, put on a lehenga. The long blouse gives ample room for the bump and the skirt allows enough leg movement, making it easy to move around. Amrita Arora dazzled in a white lehenga when she was pregnant and we quite like how her bump is visible yet concealed.

Tip: Ensure the skirt is not too long, or chances are you might trip!

4. Long dresses

Dresses need not be short! The long ones are classy too and can be super comfortable for pregnant moms. Ditch blacks and opt for something bright and colourful so you can underplay the accessory part. Floral and flowy go hand-in-hand, so don’t think twice from sporting some flower power. One of the main tricks here is opting for high empire waistlines and flowing fabrics.

Tip: If you are teaming it with a dupatta, try the sari-style draping. This will not only make you comfortable but the changing pleats also break eye movement

5. Palazzo

Palazzos are in these days, so why not make use of the baggy comfort! Team it with your favourite kurta or sharara top and see how it transforms your look. This will also give you a chance to step out of over-sized salwars and churidars.

Tip: Make sure the bodice is a bit fitted, and the cut a loose A-line, which would be a great silhouette for you.
