Married into a joint family? Here’s your reward!

Living in a joint family is not as bad as you thought it to be. After all, our Bollywood and TV celebs religiously follow the concept. So, apart from having a big, fat wedding, if you are marrying into a joint family, you are in for a joyous ride. Still, don’t believe us? Read on.

1.    More people means more gifts

Let’s admit it! We all love gifts. More the merrier, isn’t it? And if you are getting married in a joint family you can be sure to be showered with gifts. Whether it is your first Diwali or karva Chauth, your in-laws and the others in the family will not miss out on the opportunity to buy the best gift for their nayi bahu. So, there! That’s one good reason for you to smile if you are getting into a joint family.

2.    You will never feel overburdened

Living in a joint family means cooking more food and feeding more people. But wait! That does not mean you will be doing all the dog’s job. The best part is that you will have multiple hands to help you and trust us, you will be thankful for this, especially on days when you are unwell or missing your mom.  And no one will even bother about ‘who did it all’ at the end. After all, it's one big, happy family.

3.    Special occasions will totally be ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ style

Imagine celebrating Diwali all alone with your husband. Who is going to help you dish out those yummy sweets and savories and who is going to eat them all! But if you are in a joint family, preparing for special occasions becomes an event in itself. Imagine shopping or cooking up a storm with your sister-in-laws and co-sisters! Sounds like fun right?

4.    You will not miss ‘your’ home as much

Well, like it or not, this is bound to happen at some point. You will get so busy with your new, big family that thinking about the home you left behind might not make you sob as much. And even if it does, you will have people to take care of you and your emotions.

5.    Finance is seldom an issue

Four hands are better than two, isn’t it? And this holds true not just in the kitchen, but even when it comes to running a family. The burden is shared by everyone equally and there seldom will be a financial crunch. And if there is one, you will have enough and more support to battle your way out.

6.    It is easier to bring up children

This definitely is a big score! Imagine having to do all the cleaning, bathing, training and consoling all alone! Sounds daunting right? Well, if you are in a joint family this too will be shared by all (after all everyone wants to be known to the new member).  Also, your kid will always have company and also learn things faster.

7.    Eating together will be super fun

Don’t even dream you will be left alone after marriage or might have no one to accompany you while you are having your meal. Eating together at the giant dining table with everyone around will be an experience in itself. And you will finally get to live you ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ moment!
