This is the Diwali gift every mum-in-law expects!

There comes a point in every woman’s life when she *has to* impress her in-laws. Like it or not, this one’s bound to happen! If you are the new bahu of the house, be sure your in-laws are going have a few expectations, and with festivities around the corner, this is only going to be at a whole new level. After all, daughter-in-laws are the ones who bring ‘happiness’ to the family (If we may say so).

So, here are 5 things you can do to make your in-laws fall head-over-heels in love with you this Diwali!

1.    Get into your mum-in-laws good books

Easier said than done, right? It sure is! But, if you are in her good books, then you can be sure about your happiness. So, whether she is preparing for the puja, shopping for gifts, planning the menu or simply making a guest list, make sure you lend a hand. It works like magic!

2.    Go shopping with them

It might be your first Diwali, but why not buy them something? Maybe a saree for your mum-in-law and a nice kurta for your father-in-law might seal the deal in a nice way. No? So plan a shopping date with your in-laws. This will also give you a chance to bond with them in your husband’s absence.

3.    Organise a house party and invite your In-laws’ friends

What’s Diwali without some fun and happiness? So why not organise a house party? Invite your in-laws’ friends, plan a nice menu and voila you will the bahu every woman will crave to have. Tag along your sister and brother-in-law’s friends too and you can be sure to have one dashing Diwali bash!

4.    Decorate the house by yourself

Diwali, of course, means cleaning nook and corner, but go a little further and decorate your house. From changing the bedspreads and lights to deep cleaning the kitchen and store room, make sure you leave no corner of the house. And while doing all this, do not take your in-laws’ help. That would definitely leave a striking impression!

5.    Cook everyone’s favourite dishes

We know how much you miss your mum’s delicacies on this day, but that’s what marriage is all about! So, stop feeling sad for yourself and get on your toes. Make a list of your family’s favourite dishes and cook up a storm on the special day. You do know that the way to a man’s heart is through the stomach, right? Well, this holds true for anyone, in fact!
