5 ways to remove the hair on your newborn’s body

Children are born with a fine layer of hair all over their body. This is called lanugo, a fine, wispy layer of hair that covers all babies in the womb. It helps keep them warm and regulate their body temperature until they have enough fat under their skin. Babies shed most of the hair by the end of pregnancy, but it can hang around for several weeks or months after birth. While lanugo will go away on its own, and it is perfectly fine for your newborn baby to have body hair, some mothers prefer to speed up the disappearance of hair on their baby’s body. If you also want to remove or reduce the fine hair on your child’s body, read these home remedies:

1. Masoor dal and milk

Masoor dal, or red lentils, can be used to remove hair on a newborn. For this, soak 2 or 3 tablespoons of red lentils in raw milk overnight. Grind this to a paste next morning and apply all over the child's body. Don't massage your baby with this. Just give him a regular bathe in a while to remove the pack.

2. Gram flour and milk

You can use gram flour or besan and milk to remove the body hair of a newborn. For this, make a paste of besan and raw milk and rub this very gently on the baby's body. Do this for a few days and you will notice a visible reduction of body hair in your baby.

3. Raw milk

Milk has natural moisturizers that hydrate the baby's skin. Massage your baby's skin with raw milk before a bath. In a few days, the hair on his body will start to disappear. You can also add some turmeric to the milk. But please remember, any application of force can cause damage to the baby's delicate skin.

4. Oil

Oil massages are always good for the baby. These not only develop muscles, but also help the baby's bones to get stronger. In fact, a regular body massage with oil can also help remove lanugo faster.

5. Multani Mitti

Multani mitti or Fuller's Earth is very good for the mother's skin, but also works well to remove body hair in newborns. Make a paste of multani mitti and raw milk and apply this all over your baby's body. Leave for a few minutes and then rub off when you give your baby a bath.

Please don't use any chemical products to remove the hair you see on your baby's body. Remember, it is natural for babies to be born this way or stay this way for a few weeks.
