They are so colourful; they can easily appeal to any picky eater and are really quick to make. Here are simple recipes for 5 smoothies your kids will love-
A. Banana Smoothie
Bananas are available throughout the year and brimming with nutrients.
1.) 2 Bananas, chopped
2.) 250 ml Skimmed Milk
3.) 1/4th Glass of water
4.) 2 Tablespoons Palm Sugar
1.) Tip in all the ingredients into a blender and blend for 2-3 minutes. Pour into the glasses and make sure your kids consume immediately.
2.) You can add a dash of nutella hazelnut spread or chocolate sauce in place of palm sugar occasionally to create some zing. Chocolate banana smoothie is sure to vanish from your kid’s glass within seconds.
B. Pomegranate Smoothie with Yoghurt
Pomegranate is a popular fruit; known for containing antioxidants in abundance. Pomegranate juice leaves a tarty taste, which kids often dislike. Adding Bananas and berries to pomegranate takes away the tartness of the fruit.
1.) 1 Pomegranate
2.) 1 Banana
3.) 1 Cup Strawberries
4.) ½ Cup Yoghurt
1.) Extract juice from the pomegranate and add sliced banana, strawberries and yoghurt to it. Blend them all together till smooth. Your bright red Pomegranate smoothie is ready.
2.) You could alternately freeze it and serve it as a dessert for a party time snack. The kids are sure to love it.
C. Kiwi-Papaya Smoothie
Papaya is rich in Vitamin A and with its high fibre and water content, it helps prevents constipation and aids in good digestion. Kiwi of course, is known as the world’s healthiest fruit with lots of fibre, folic acid, vitamins and minerals. Guess the nutritional value when you combine these two in a Smoothie. 1.) 1 Small Papaya
2.) 3 Kiwis
3.) 1 Cup Yoghurt
4.) 2 Tbsp Honey
Remove seeds from Papaya, peel it and chop it. Then toss all the ingredients and blend them together. Your delicious smoothie is ready.
D. Apple Strawberry Smoothie
An apple a day keeps the doctor away, so make sure you make this one ever so often.
1.) 1 Apple, peeled and diced
2.) 2 Peaches
3.) 1 Cup Vanilla Ice Cream
4.) ½ Cup Yoghurt
Combine all ingredients and blend till the mix is smooth and frothy. You are done. Pour it in glasses and watch your kids slurp it all up delightfully!
E. Pear & Vanilla Smoothie with Crushed Almonds
This smoothie is packed with more nutrients than what meets the eye. Pears are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. When you combine it with the surprise ingredients of this recipe it will be one rich, delicious, nutritious power pack for your kids.
1.) 1 Pear
2.) Small Bunch of Spinach
3.) 2 Tbsp Oats
4.) 2/3rd Cup Almond Milk
5.) 1 Tbsp Almond Butter with crushed almonds
6.) ½ Tsp Vanilla Powder
1.) Discard the core of the pear, peel it and chop it. Add all the ingredients in a blender and blend it well. This might take a little longer than the other smoothies as the oats take time to blend.
