1. Coconut Til Ladoos

These beautiful contain no added sugar instead dates are added for natural sweetness. Enjoy the smokey flavour of roasted sesame seeds in this guilt-free dessert

  • 2 cups white sesame seeds

  • 1 and 1/2 cup chopped dates

  • 1 cup dry grated coconut

How to Make Coconut Til Ladoo

Finely chop de-seeded dates.

Dry roast sesame in a wok for around 1-2 minutes on medium flame until it light golden.

Keep aside the sesame to cool.

Add coconut to the wok. Stir well.

Lightly grind the cooled sesame in a dry grinder more for a few seconds. Make sure you don't grind it to fine.

Take the ground sesame seeds in a bowl. Add chopped dates and coconut powder and mix well.

Take small amount of mixture and roll it in hand to form a ball or ladoo. You can roll the ladoo in some coconut powder to add texture

2. Turmeric Kulfi

  • 1.5 litre full cream milk

  • 20 gms fresh turmeric

  • 300 gms sugar

How to Make Turmeric Kulfi (My Yellow Table)

Boil milk, add fresh turmeric to it,

Add sugar and let the milk boil until it is reduced to 1/4th of its original content,

Pour the mixture into silicon moulds

Freeze for 4 hours

3. Avocado Lassi

  • 1 avocado

  • 1 cup yogurt

  • 1 tsp honey

5. Apple Chia Seeds Smoothie

  • 2 mangoes

  • 1 tbsp honey

How to Make Mango Lassi Ice Cream

Churn together yogurt, chopped mangoes and honey in a blender.

Pour it in silicon moulds

Deep freeze it for at least four hours.

Serve cold.

7. Omelette in a Mug

Eggs are great anytime of the day. This can be your ideal quick breakfast-on-the-go or the perfect evening snack to binge on. The good thing is that it's totally and so, you don't need to worry. 

  • 1 egg

  • 2 egg whites

  • 2 tbsp of shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tbsp of diced green bell pepper

  • Salt and ground black pepper (to taste)

  • Chopped ham or bacon (optional)

  • Cooking spray

How to Make Omelette in a Mug

Combine egg, egg whites, cheddar cheese, bell pepper, salt, ground pepper in a microwave-safe mug coated with non-stick spray.

Microwave on high for 1 minute and give the contents a stir.

Return to the microwave and cook until the eggs are completely set, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes longer. (Note: Time differs from one microwave to the next).

Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, crispy bacon if desired and dig in!

8. Hot White Chocolate

Give yourself a change from the usual with a hot cup of white chocolate. It's good as a companion on breezy day. The drink is blended with coconut milk and vanilla for extra flavour. 

  • 500 ml milk

  • 250 ml coconut milk

  • 75 gms white chocolate

  • 1 vanilla pod

Boil together milk, coconut milk & white chocolate in a container.

Add 1 vanilla pod.

Serve hot.

9. Mysore Pak

This lovely Indian dessert is hard on the outside and crumbly on the inside and loaded with desi ghe. It's alright to indulge every once in a while and treat yourself. When you decide to do so, make a quick Mysore Pak. 

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup chick-pea flour

  • 2 cups ghee

How to Make Mysore Pak

Sift the besan and keep ready.

Dissolve sugar in the water over low heat and once it dissolves, increase the heat, bring to a boil and cook till it reaches a one-thread consistency.

Add 1 Tbsp of besan and stir to mix well. Continue till all the besan is added, a tablespoon at a time.

Add the ghee, one tablespoon a time till all of it is used.

The color and texture will change by now. It will get more brown and crumbly.

Set in a thali, patting to level.

Do not remove ghee that may float on top, pat it back.

Cool, cut and serve.

10. Kaju Ki Barfi

Another one of our favourite Indian desserts mostly prepared during festivities but who says you can't enjoy it on a happy day? You won't believe how easy it is to make it at home. 


  • 250 gm cashew nuts
  • 250 gm (1 cup) sugar
  • 240 gm (1 cup) milk
  • Few silver leaves - for decoration (optional)
  • A greased plate to set the barfee in

How to Make Kaju ki Barfi

Blend cashews and milk in a blender to a fine paste.

Mix paste and sugar and cook over low heat stirring till the sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil.

Continue stirring over medium heat, till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, and becomes a dough like paste.

Remove from heat and when cool enough to handle, roll it on to a greased surface, with a greased rolling pin (roll before it cools).

Roll to 1/4cm / 1/8" thickness.

Now cover with the silver leaf and leave to cool, then cut into diamond shaped pieces.
