The Multi-disciplinary summer workshop offered by Attakkalari this year is getting excited than ever! The first batch of the summer camp – from 9th April, 2016 to 22nd April, 2016 – is brimming with registrations beyond capacity and the registrations for the second batch – from 30th April, 2016 to 13th May, 2016 – have already been in steady progress.

The first batch is being conceptualized based on various emotional and psychological concepts related to the different stages of growing up and is to be showcased as a blended performance in Creative movement arts and theatrical components. For the first batch, the registrations were open to young people between ages 5 to 18 in three different groups – juniors (5 – 8), seniors (9 – 12) and Teens (13 – 18). The final performance for this batch will be on 22nd April evening at Jawahar Bal Bhavan Auditorium in Cubbon Park Premises. The Second batch is planned to be more inclusive, offering sessions for another age group – young adults (Ages 19 – 25) – along with the three age groups offered in the first batch. This batch will be conceptualized in a different idea than the first one and will also have a final public presentation.

All facilitators of this summer camp are young, dynamic, competent, and are experienced in working with children. Their facilitators for the summer camp for different age groups include Stefano Fardelli (Dancer and choreographer from Italy), Ronita Mookerji (a senior dancer trained with Attakkalari, and has been part of international residencies in Korea, Germany, Japan), Denny Paul (winner of Robert Bosch young choreographer award) and many more including theatre artistes. For very young kids, female facilitators will lead the sessions to ensure safety and comfort.

The registrations fees for the workshop is as follows: Juniors (Rs. 3000), seniors (Rs. 3500), Teens (Rs. 4000) and Young Adults (Rs. 4500).
